Being a Community Leader Helps Healthcare

In today’s society, health systems must serve twin goals for the community: fulfilling fundamental care needs while also driving visionary requirements for the community at large. In fact, health system leaders often participate and even spearhead strategic partnerships with local commercial and civic organizations to create the conditions for citizens to be as healthy as possible and to make the region as attractive and vibrant as possible for new growth and investment.

ClearBalance sales leader Terry Buske and Freddy Warner, Chief Government Relations Officer at Memorial Hermann Health System, spoke recently at the HFMA Western Region Symposium about their involvement with The Center for Houston’s Future. The group, formed even before Hurricane Harvey wreaked havoc in 2017, is the hub for planning Houston’s future in 2040. Healthcare plays a vital role as one of the key planks. This group’s leadership is complemented by the vision and initiatives of the Texas Medical Center, which itself is a collaborative among the very best of Texas’ statewide medical community.
